About the Honda, I had a CB350F beater bike when I was in college. It's fatal last ride is documented on Savage Lover's page if you are interested.
Almost brought home a CB400KO last year, until I opened up the top end. The cams and such were gorgeous, everything else was junk.
Both of them I was involved with had the potential to be very good bikes, given enough TLC and such. The CBxxxF is a strong motor, and as Skeeter pointed out, has power to spare. The beat up 350 I had would eat the modern sportbikes (well, modern for 92-94) for lunch, dinner, and the next days breakfast with no problem whatsoever.
Should you buy it? Why not, everyone needs a hobby. :-)
